A member of the team at a Malton Volvo retailer has embarked on a quirky charity endeavour to help children in the community.
Nifty knitter Emma Brown, Fleet Sales Administrator at Ray Chapman Motors began knitting a collection of teddy bears for charity back in January after her local WI inspired her to learn the craft.
Emma has already made a fantastic 17 bears, and is determined to make it to 20 by the end of the year.
She is donating all of her creations to the Buddy Bag Foundation; a charity that provides comforting items to children entering emergency accommodation in order to help restore a sense of safety and security in their lives.
Speaking about the project, Emma said: “I’m so pleased that I found the Buddy Bag Foundation.
"To know that I am helping a child who is in emergency care, and may have very little to call their own is a wonderful feeling."

“Knitting is a great way to relax and I’d encourage anyone who has some spare time to get involved. There are so many different ways you can learn to knit, and if you join a knit and natter group you can meet some fantastic people while helping others.”
