Hollinbay sponsor cybersecurity awareness event

Hollinbay sponsor cybersecurity awareness event

On Wednesday 23 January 2019 Hollinbay, Yorkshire’s leading managed services provider, is sponsoring a cybersecurity awareness event in Bradford.

The event which will be held at the Bradford Bulls Odsal Stadium is aimed at business owners and IT managers in Yorkshire. It is a knowledge sharing event where delegates can find out about the types of threats that are putting their businesses at risk on a daily basis.

Hollinbay is dedicated to educating businesses on the importance of cybersecurity because lack of awareness is a threat in itself and cybersecurity breaches are getting worse. According to the Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2018 carried out by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, 43% of UK businesses experienced a cybersecurity breach or attack in the last 12 months.

Delegates will have the chance to hear from Yorkshire and Humber Police Regional Organised Crime Unit just how easy it can be for cyber criminals to infiltrate personal devices and unsecure networks.

Industry experts will describe in detail the volumes and types of threat that are putting businesses at risk every day.

Delegates will then have the opportunity to take part in a simulated cyber attack which will help them understand how to put a cyber defence strategy in place.

Robert Harder, managing director at Hollinbay said: “We are passionate about keeping businesses in Yorkshire safe from cybercrime. Many organisations do not have a clear picture on how easy it is to fall victim of a cybersecurity attack or have a cybersecurity policy in place. Events like this ensure we are doing all we can to help protect Yorkshire businesses.”

The event is free to attend, stating at 9.30am. Admission is by ticket only and can be ordered here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/understanding-cybersecurity-2019-tickets-54518728986.
